Our first session will be a social to get everybody back together after the summer and welcome our newcomers. Therefore we won't have any speakers and head straight to beer and pizza. It will take place on the 11th of October at 4:30.
Since our beautiful library has been turned into yet another e-phys lab (read: pit of despair) we have moved to room G-6.
G-6 is located on the ground floor next to the reception area. As you come into HRB turn right walk through the opaque glass door (i.e. not the lecture theatre), continue straight through the next door.
G-6 is smaller than the old library and if we find that there are too many people we will head up to the common room.
We are also looking for a new committee, as we have done this for a while and want to give others the chance to run the series while we focus on our respective PhD projects.
Organising the postgraduate seminar series is great fun, you get to know loads of people and is a nice thing to put on your CV regardless of what you do after your PhD/MSc/postdoc so I would encourage everybody to do it. I will provide more information during the welcome session.
